Layia’s debut body of work is a sequence of otherworldly vistas which open one into another, in cascades. Lilting melodies herald each crossing, drawing it into being, pulling and weaving worlds together. Layia— named for a flower of mourning in Celtic myth—is a skilled and precise guide across the thresholds, masterfully carrying out transfiguration after transfiguration, evincing the closeness of another world beneath the skin.
